Joseph Deasy is Chair of the Department of Medical Physics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he holds the Enid A. Haupt Endowed Chair in Medical Physics, is a tenured Member, and serves as Chief of the Service for Predictive Informatics. He is a Professor of Medical Physics in Radiation Oncology at Weill Cornell Medicine. A medical physicist and cancer data scientist with more than 25 years of experience, he develops and translates quantitative methods for radiotherapy, cancer imaging, informatics, AI, and outcome modeling. Before joining MSK in 2010, he was a tenured professor and the initial director of the Division of Bioinformatics and Outcomes Research in Radiation Oncology at Washington University in St. Louis. He created the open-source CERR platform, co-founded and co-led the QUANTEC initiative on normal-tissue dose limits, and has mentored PhD and MD trainees who now hold faculty and leadership positions worldwide.

PhD, Physics & Astronomy, University of Kentucky · Postdoctoral Fellow (F32), Medical Physics, University of Wisconsin–Madison · BS, Electrical Engineering, University of Kentucky. ORCID 0000-0002-9437-266X.
